ACT and SAT Information

ACT has implemented two new opportunities for students to gain information about colleges and the ACT test. First is the ACT College Search app for iPhone and iPod users (free download) to search for colleges and universities through five filters: locations, type, size, admission, and cost. Once users have entered their preferences on those criteria, the application returns results based on their choices. Users can add colleges to their favorites list as they move through the results. Each college or university page provides a map of the school's location and links to the school's website and its social media networks. Other information provided includes degrees offered, tuition, student demographics, admission requirements, average first-year student ACT scores, and housing options.

Another free application - the ACT Student app - offers clusters of information about the ACT test. Users can access practice questions and helpful tips. They can also access limited information specific to them about their registration and score status. Short videos providing more information, such as which items to bring to the test center on test day, are available on this mobile application.

ACT Test Prep Workshops -  The Math Prep Session  with David Askey is the Univ of Okla ACT math instructor who has been helping Oklahoma students prepare for the ACT since 1994.  Mr. Askey will spend the two hours working with a limited number of students on strategies, shortcuts and a lively review of just the specific math concepts needed for the ACT.  Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 -  6:30-8:30pm at NHS in Seminar Room.  Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/act-math-prep-session-for-all-norman-area-students-tickets-37677958789?aff=es2

Students will interact in model tasks designed to review and deconstruct ACT test items. Students will practice study strategies for the ACT and future academic success. The instructor, Josh Flores, has over seven years experience preparing students for ACT success and over ten years as an English Language Arts and Literacy instructor.  Date is Wed., Oct 18, 2017, 6:30-8:30pm.  Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/act-english-prep-session-for-all-norman-area-students-tickets-37828886217?aff=es2
